Fundraising Update

I hope that you have all had a great summer and are ready for the new term!

I have heard of some fantastic fundraising that has taken part over the summer and I look forward to you sharing this with the team. I am pleased to see that a number of you have already raised over £500! An amazing achievement in such a short space of time!

As you have all requested - here are the individual fundraising totals so far! As a group we have raised £4,232.00 in the space of a few months. We must now build on this and start to organise some team events like a raffle, quiz night etc...

We will meet at lunch time during the first two weeks back to discuss our plans.

Expedition Update

Logo 

The Team's expedition logo has now been chosen! Thank you to all those who spent time designing them. A special mention to Ben Davis, who's initial design got the Team's vote and is now being finalised before our next meeting.

Medical Conditions

You should have all received an e-mail this week form Outlook Expeditions. Please complete the medical conditions form by clicking on the link in the e-mail. If you have any issues or have not received this e-mail then please see me.

Sponsorship

Well done to those of you who have found details for potential sponsors of the expedition. Please come with their details to the next meeting that will be held next week (to be announced in the bulletin and on Twitter @RHS_Tanzania). I will then provide you with the letter to send out. We are looking at sending out 20 letters (one each), so if you have yet to find a contact...please research this weekend!

If you have not done so already, log onto the Outlook Expedition Member's Area and look at the fundraising information documents. They have been put together to help us plan each event.

We still need to select a 'Team Challenge' that we will embark on during the build up, as a sponsored event. The suggestion from Mr Rudling is we travel the distance from Hertford to Tanzania in small teams by foot, bike, rower and/or swim. Please put your suggestions on Twitter and give feedback to this idea (@RHS_PE).

I have drafted a letter that we can send out to businesses to ask for sponsorship in return for advertisement on our t-shirts/leaflets/blog etc. As mentioned on Thursday, I will be passing this on to Richard Branson at Virgin and other businesses I have contacts for. Please ask parents/friends for any contacts they may have who may be interested.
